Our laboratory planning professionals take a thoughtful, collaborative approach to creating effective, practical, and flexible spaces for our clients. We are adept at managing rigorous technical requirements particular to the design and occupancy of laboratories. Experience with laboratory planning has given us a heightened awareness of the drivers that guide facility design in many laboratory types.
Our 3D laser scanner provides a new level of service for our clients. The LiDAR-based, high-resolution scans build extremely accurate models of facilities through a unique data collection process. Scanning expedites the time it would take to walk through and document existing conditions and can eliminate the need for repeat site visits to take measurements. We move the real world into the modeled world by creating a snapshot of the existing conditions and their impact on your project.
Fire doors are one of the most critical features of the built environment, providing both life-safety and safety considerations. What happens when a fire door is not able to provide the desired or required level of protection for a facility? The entire life-safety fabric of the facility is then compromised. Model Building Codes require that fire doors be inspected on a regular basis to ensure that they are able to function as needed. NKB's certified fire door inspection team stands ready to help you maintain this critical feature of your facility.
Providing visibility beyond the visible with the use of our infrared imaging technology, NKB is able to capture how a facility is performing thermally. Doing so allows our team to make informed decisions as to your design options and recommend corrective measures that will provide the best solution to solve your facility's needs.

Our Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) services support preserving your capital assets and provide time to get the necessary resources in place.
