N.K. BHANDARI, Architecture & Engineering, P.C. (NKB) began as a sole proprietorship in 1980. Narindar K. Bhandari, P.E., PhD provided structural engineering and construction management services to a variety of federal, state and institutional clients throughout Upstate New York. In the mid-1980’s, NKB expanded to include architecture and civil engineering while at the same time steadily increasing its geographic area throughout the Northeast United States. In 1988, NKB was restructured as a professional corporation under the new name N.K. BHANDARI, Consulting Engineers, P.C. as it continued to establish itself as a quality-focused provider of design services for healthcare facilities, military installations, state institutions and private clientele.

Over the years, NKB maintained a close relationship with Bhandari Constructors & Consultants, Inc. (BCCI), a general construction firm founded by Dr. Bhandari. For three decades, BCCI was a leader in the New York State construction market completing major construction projects for Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the State of New York, and other clientele. This collaboration between NKB and BCCI exposed the professionals at NKB to all aspects of building construction including constructability, estimating, scheduling, phasing, and construction sequencing thereby giving its design professionals a unique perspective that they bring to the development of project designs and construction documents for each project.

In 2008, Dr. Bhandari retired and James Resig, PE, LEED AP took over as President of NKB and changed its name to N.K BHANDARI, Architecture & Engineering, P.C. to reflect the full scope of services provided by the firm. Jim’s brother, Christopher Resig, AIA, LEED AP bought the firm from Jim and took over as President of NKB in 2015. Chris has been with the firm for over 17 years and maintains NKB’s focus on its core values of Integrity, Quality and Professionalism. Today, N.K. BHANDARI, Architecture & Engineering, P.C. is a provider of architecture and engineering services for Federal, State, Health, Higher Education, K-12 Education, Corporate, Industrial, and Building Performance clientele throughout the United States.
